According to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dato Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, a total of 12 new community clusters linked to Hari Raya celebrations were identified on Tuesday (May 25) involving seven states.
The Health Ministry has discovered 12 Covid-19 clusters linked to the May 13 Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
The figures are up to yesterday, according to its director-general, Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.
He added in a statement on Wednesday that a total of 2,541 people from the clusters were screened, with 470 of them testing positive for Covid-19 (May 26).
One person from the Jalan Tahir Manan cluster in Selangor died, while two cases from the Simpang Sahari cluster in Labuan are currently in the ICU, according to Dr. Noor Hisham.
“It has been two weeks since Muslims across the country celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” said Dr. Noor Hisham. The number of cases is expected to rise, as will the number of states involved, ” he added.
