Despite numerous technical issues, one million slots for the latest round of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine opt-in registration were filled in one and a half hours after it opened at noon on today.

More than 300,000 slots for the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination had been booked as of 12.56pm today, less than an hour after registration opened to people under the age of 60, according to CITF. Khairy Jamaluddin, the Coordinating Minister for the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program, announced on Monday (May 24) that registration would begin at noon.

However, CITF announced a 15-minute delay on Twitter today because the vaccine booking page was still being updated.

Due to technical issues with the booking process, a number of people expressed their dissatisfaction on social media. Residents of Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Sarawak, and Selangor aged 18 and up can now book an AstraZeneca vaccine.
