Malaysian Daily Covid-19 Cases Per Capita Outnumber Indian Cases

On a rolling seven-day average, Malaysia announced 185.3 new Covid-19 cases per million people on May 23, surpassing India (184.99) and the United States (76.31).

Since yesterday, Malaysia's average daily new Covid-19 cases per population has surpassed India, as the country fights a devastating new wave of infections that is nearly overwhelming the health-care system.
Malaysia recorded 185.30 daily new confirmed coronavirus infections per million people on a cumulative seven-day average on May 23, according to Johns Hopkins University data published on Our World In Data, compared to 184.99 cases and 76.31 new cases per million people in India and the United States, respectively.
Based on the average of the previous seven days, Malaysia announced 185.3 new Covid-19 cases per million residents yesterday. Comparisons between countries with large and small populations can be made using per capita data.
Since May 8, India's per capita case has been trending downwards, whereas Malaysia's has been trending upwards.
Malaysia has been ahead of India in terms of real daily new Covid-19 cases recorded per population since May 20, recording 210.28 new infections that day, compared to 188.08 cases in India and 91.06 new cases in the US.
